Registration begins at 11:30am, the race begins at 1pm sharp!
Each participant must sign a waiver at the on-site registration, even if you register online. Each team must check in to receive their packet of goodies and their first clue.
There should be plenty of parking around in Ziggy's parking lot and thereabouts.

Can I participate with a group?
Absolutely. You must sign up as 2 person team, but feel free to buddy up with other teams if you’re looking to have fun with a group of four or more friends.

            What should I bring?
            (see RULES page)

Optional: (Some may help you, some may not, none are necessary to win the race)
            1.  GPS.
            2.  Maps.
            3.  Guidebooks.
            4.  Laptop.
            5.  Smart phone.

            Digital Camera?
This is an official BYODC event - Bring Your Own Digital Camera. You’ll use it to take a picture of you and your teammate at most checkpoints. A Smartphone will work as well.

            Don’t have a digital camera?
Ask family and friends to borrow theirs – odds are you know somebody who has one.

How are you involved with the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership?
A portion of every team's registration goes toward this great cause.

I’m out of shape. Can I do this?
You’ll be able to complete the course. That said, you may finish with wobbly knees and a bit of sweat.

Do I have to know my city like a tour guide, or what?
No. Think on your feet and you’ll have a shot to win no matter what. Let the clues guide you.

What’s the course? / Where do we go?
The boundaries of the hunt are:
            Ninth Street to the North
            Academy Street to the South
            Patterson Avenue to the East
            Burke Street to the West

            Modes of transportation?

This is a pedestrian race. Wheelchairs for physically impaired persons are allowed, as are forms of transportation specifically organized for Hunt use (this will be obvious).

Will I have to eat things?
No, you will not be required to eat anything during the hunt. However, if you pass a restaurant or coffee shop and it lures you in with its edible goodness, feel free to partake!

            How long is the race?
The course is designed so the winners should finish in 2-3 hours, the majority in 3-4 hours, and the race will end after four hours. The distance of the race depends on the route you take. Think about three miles on your feet, maybe less, maybe more – it’s up to you.

            What if I can’t find a checkpoint?
Don’t give up! Keep looking, ask for help, you can call Hunt control for a hint - for a time penalty.

Can my cousin / co-worker / grandma be my teammate?
Be alive, human, and 18 or older and you qualify.

            What if it rains?
Rain or shine, the race will go on.

            Will I be on TV?
There might be some local coverage of the event.
